Disaster Management Centre to the Fore in Facilitating Public Private Partnership (PPP) in COVID-19 Response
In response to the 3rd Wave of the COVID -19 pandemic, HSBC Sri Lanka donated Rs. 8 Million worth of medical equipment including ventilators and oxygen machines to the health sector. The initiative was facilitated under the leadership of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) and A-PAD Sri Lanka.
ඊසාන දිග බෙංගාල බොක්ක ප්‍රදේශයේ වර්ධනය වන අඩුපීඩන කලාපය පිළිබද නිවේදනය
බෙංගාල බොක්ක ආශ්‍රිත මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශයේ මැයි මස 23 වන දින වන විට අඩු පීඩන තත්වයක් වර්ධනය වීමේ හැකියාවක් පවතින බැවින් මැයි 21 වන දින සිට නැවත දැනුම් දෙන තුරු ඊසාන දිග බෙංගාල බොක්ක ආශ්‍රිත මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශයේ තුළ ධීවර සහ නාවුක කටයුතු වලින් වැළකී සිටින ලෙස කාලගුණවිද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් නාවුක සහ ධීවර ප්‍රජාවට දැනුම් දී ඇත.

ගිනිකොණ දිග අරාබි මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශය ආශ්‍රිතව පවතින අඩු පීඩන කලාපයේ බලපෑම හේතුවෙන් කන්කසන්තුරය මන්නාරම හරහා කොළඹ දක්වා මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල සුළගේ වේගය පැයට කිලෝමීටර් 60 ක් 70 ත් අතර විය හැකි බවත් මේ නිසා මෙම මුහුදු කළාපයේ නැවත දැනුම් දෙන තුරු ධීවර සහ නාවුක කටයුතු වලින් වැළකී සිටින ලෙස කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නිවේදනය කරයි.
ගිණිකොණ දිග අරාබි මුහුදේ සුළගේ වේගය පැයට කිලෝමීටර් 70 ත් 80 අතර විය හැකි බවත් මේ නිසා නැවත දැනුම් දෙන තුරු මෙම මුහුදු කලාපයේ ධීවර සහ නාවුක කටයුතු වලින් වැළකී සිටින ලෙස කාලගුණවිද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව දන්වා සිටී.
Sri Lanka Flood Situation update “Tauktae”
Due to the recent storm “Tauktae” Sri Lanka experienced heavy rainfall with high winds from 13th May early morning till 14th May and most parts of the South Western region received more than 250mm rainfall within 24 hours and maximum reported was 336mm in Agalawatta (Kalutara). As a result due to heavy rainfall, strong winds and few landslides a total of 48,300 people (12,177 families) got affected in ten (10) districts, since 13th May 2021. Furthermore, 5 deaths were reported and 3 persons suffered minor injuries due to floods and cutting-failures. As per data 3 houses fully and 860 houses partially, have been damaged mostly in the Gampaha, Galle, Matara and Colombo districts. At present in certain places, most of the rivers in these areas are at the threshold level while few reservoirs are also at spill levels.

පවතින අයහපත් කාලගුණ තත්වය තවදුරටත් පැවතිය හැකියි.
ගිනිකොණ දිග අරාබි මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශය ආශ්‍රිතව පවතින අඩු පීඩන කලාපය හේතුවෙන් දැනට පවතින වැසි සහ සුළං සහිත කාලගුණ තත්ත්වය අද (14) දිනයේදීත් තවදුරටත් බලාපොරොත්තු වෙන බව කාලගුණ විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නිවේදනය කර ඇත.
මෙම තත්වය හේතුවෙන් දිවයින හරහා සුළගේ වේගය විටින් විට පැ.කි.මී. 40ත් 50ත් දක්වා වැඩිවිය හැකි බවත් විශේෂයෙන්ම උතුරු, උතුරු මැද සහ වයඹ පළාත්වල සුළගේ වේගය ක්ෂණිකව පැ.කි.මී. 60 දක්වා වැඩි විය හැකි බවත් එම නිවේදනයේ සදහන් කර ඇත.
