ADPC Donation 2022-05-31Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in partnership with A-PAD and HSBC coordinated and channeled vital and essential medicines to the ministry of Health to overcome the severe shortage in pharmaceuticals.

The aid was prioritized in order to bridge the gaps of the cardiovascular diseases, Oncology, Anesthesia, Osteoporosis and Bone Density related issues of public sector hospitals. The Ministry of Health will administer careful and responsible distribution of the purchased medicines to hospitals on a priority basis and the DMC vouches accountability of the state towards this initiative.

Major General (Retd) Sudantha Ranasinghe, Director General of DMC, on behalf of the state, extends its sincere appreciation to HSBC Sri Lanka and its leadership for practicing social responsibilities of this nature in times of crisis and A-PAD Sri Lanka for facilitating such endeavors and for channeling local resources of the private sector towards social welfare.

Mr. Kelum Edirisinghe, Acting CEO of HSBC handed over medicines to Dr. Saman Rathnayake State Secretary, Ministry of Health in the presence of state officials from the PM’s Office, MoH, DMC, HSBC and A-PAD SL.

DMC liaised with the Ministry of Health through Dr Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director General of Public Health Service/Director of Communications and Dr Anver Hamdin, MoH Coordinator for Medical Donations.
